Lambert Buzzing From Bonanza

SIMON Lambert is thrilled with his performance at the Ben Fund on Saturday.

With a decent crowd in attendance, there was some great racing and the Boston racer can’t wait to get racing.

“I’m buzzing,” said Lambert. “I beat Jacob Thorssell. I beat Barker from the back and Tom Brennan. The bike was good and I felt race fit. I just couldn’t make starts but to score eight points there are a lot of positives I can take going into the beginning of the season.

“I had a practice a month ago and then I was supposed to be practicing every weekend and I should’ve had a practice every weekend, but they’ve all been cancelled.

“I went to Redcar last Sunday for Robbo’s meeting and the track was a bit tough, but if it was on I’d have still rode although the right decision was made. A lot of the boys have had a meeting already this week.

“I didn’t disgrace myself at all. It was a good opening meeting and I’m really chuffed as I tried two engines on Saturday – one I’d not used for a long time and the other had never been used at Lynn before.

“It was just about learning and testing a few things. There was a lot of stuff to take away from Saturday night. There was a good crowd and obviously it was for a good cause.”
