SIMON Lambert has been clocking up the miles in what has been the busiest week of the season.
After Scunthorpe secured victory against Redcar the Boston-born racer travelled to Manchester for the British Final before the Scorpions completed their two-day southern tour at Plymouth and Poole with a patched up team.
And then they returned to the Eddie Wright Raceway to complete their busy run with a ninth home win of the season against Birmingham.
Lambert said: “It’s been a very tough week on and off track for me personally! However in the last eight days we covered 1400 miles, I scored 10 against Redcar, finished eleventh in the British Final, scored eight at Plymouth, scored six at Poole and finished with eight points at home against Birmingham so I’ve had worse weeks!
“I feel I’ve proved to an awful lot of people that I’m not just a reserve because I’ve more than held my own in the team and I’ve even raised my average!
“I’m proper loving my speedway this year and I still feel there’s more to come! As always a big shoutout and thank you to all the sponsors who make it possible along with my family for their support.”
