Preview: Scunthorpe v Berwick

SCUNTHORPE are looking to maintain their unbeaten home league record when they face Berwick at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday (7.30).

After two victories over league leaders Glasgow Tigers and third-placed Edinburgh, the Scorpions are proving to be a force on home shale.

The entertainment at the North Lincolnshire track has been spectacular so far this term with 17-year-old Jordan Palin scoring a brilliant 16+2 last time out.

Skipper Simon Lambert said: “This is a big weekend as we are expected to win against Berwick at home on Friday and then at Newcastle on Sunday!

“The team spirit in the camp is unreal every rider feels the same way so anything is possible. It’s the best spirit we’ve had as a team because we’re a tightly knit group. It really is amazing!”

SCUNTHORPE: Adam Ellis, Simon Lambert, Theo Pijper, Tero Aarnio, Thomas Jorgensen (TBC), Josh MacDonald, Jordan Palin.

BERWICK: Jye Etheridge, Coty Garcia R/R, Aaron Summers, Dany Gappmaier, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen, Kyle Bickley, Leon Flint.
