SCUNTHORPE ended the last remaining unbeaten record in the Championship with a thrilling victory over Edinburgh on Sunday.
The Scorpions won 54-36 in a meeting which produced top-class racing and also a career-best performance from home youngster Jordan Palin. The 17-year-old took extra rides after Josh MacDonald was ruled out with a hand injury and piled up a total of 16+2 – whilst Josh Pickering notched 13 for the Monarchs.
It was a great display by the North Lincolnshire side who bounced back from the defeat at Armadale in fine style with a solid home win which maintains their second place in the league.
Skipper Simon Lambert said: “It was a fantastic team performance on Sunday! Scoring six points from three rides with a tapes offence I’ll take but obviously I would have liked more!
“I got lured into moving at the start but we never stop learning!”
“On the whole it was a decent weekend. On Friday it was a shame we didn’t leave Edinburgh with anything but we sent them packing woth nothing Sunday!”
