Preview: Scunthorpe v Glasgow

SCUNTHORPE take on league leaders Glasgow at the Eddie Wright Raceway today (Sunday) 3pm.

It is set to be a mouth-watering clash with the top two in the Championship going head-to-head.

The Scorpions are unbeaten on home shale with three wins from three league meetings while Glasgow have won five out of six of their first fixtures.

Skipper Simon Lambert has been in excellent form around the North Lincolnshire circuit and he hopes that continues against the Tigers.

Lambert said: “Glasgow are absolutely solid and they’re a top-notch team. This is probably the biggest meeting of the year for us so whether we win by one point or 20 points that’s going to be our aim because we’re all more than capable of doing something.

“Young Jordan Palin is flying and then Tero Aarnio has hit top form especially around Scunny. I’m coming off a 20-point weekend so it will be good be back on track again.

“The racing is always fantastic at Scunny so anyone who misses that probably won’t see a better meeting. We want as many fans as possible there supporting us and making some noise because that’s what our sport is all about.”

SCUNTHORPE: Jake Allen (G), Simon Lambert, Theo Pijper, Tero Aarnio, Thomas Jorgensen, Josh MacDonald, Jordan Palin.

GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Ricky Wells, Broc Nicol, Ulrich Ostergaard, Sam Jensen, Jack Smith.
