Lambert Eager For More Racing

SIMON Lambert hopes his great form for Scunthorpe will attract interest from Premiership clubs.

With his vast amount of knowledge and experience the 32-year-old is eager to get more racing and he is open to offers from the top flight.

The Scorpions skipper has been in great form in recent weeks with paid-46 points from his first six meetings including seven race wins.

Lambert said: “I’m hungry, I’m determined and I’m more focused coming off a 20-point weekend where I have proved that I’m able to score points on the road as well as at home.

“I have been going well at the Eddie Wright Raceway this year and a lot of the points I’ve scored have shown knowledge of the circuit using my track graft winning races from the back.

“I’m riding with a lot of confidence and those small gaps on track are looking a lot bigger now. Everything is clicking for me and when it’s like that then racing is a lot easier.

“I’m keeping my feet on the ground, though and I’m waiting for the phone to ring as I would really like another shot in the Premiership.

“Having one meeting and then waiting a week for the next one means it’s hard to keep in the flow of racing, whereas, if you’re riding in two leagues you’re on it all the time. Doing one league just isn’t enough for us to stay race sharp.

“I’ve been beating some good riders in the Championship and I just want people to know I can still do a job in the top flight. Things like injures happen all the time which is the unfortunate thing about our sport, but I want to get noticed and start doubling-up.”
