Preview: Scunthorpe v Eastbourne

SCUNTHORPE will be back at full strength tonight when they take on Eastbourne at the Eddie Wright Raceway this evening (7.30).

The home side are looking to bounce back from successive defeats tp Leicester and Berwick last weekend. Scorpions No.1 Josh Auty crashed against the Lions and was then ruled out from the trip to Shielfield Park.

Meanwhile, Danish favourite Thomas Jorgensen crashed while on Premiership duty with King’s Lynn at Ipswich on Thursday, but thankfully he and Auty have declared themselves fit for the clash with the Eagles.

While Eagles are without Drew Kemp, who is in action in the European Under-19 Pairs final in Poland which means club asset Nathan Ablitt comes in as a guest at reserve.

Scunthorpe skipper Simon Lambert said: “We went to Berwick with no Josh (Auty) and then Teri (Aarnio) had an absolute nightmare so we missed out on league points there so we’ve got to hit the ground running tonight because we have got to win. 

“I used a new engine at Shielfield Park but I just couldn’t get off the start. We are at home tonight, though, so we will use what we know and hopefully we can get three more league points on the board. 

“From my view it will be good to get a good score as a team and for me personally. It’s just tough only riding once a week at the moment and it’s very difficult to get into a rhythm again.”
